Davido, a number of award-winning singers and performers

Afrobeats superstar Davido made history by becoming the first current male artist to appear on the cover of Rolling Stone Africa. This milestone cemented his position as a global idol and highlighted his contribution to the development of African music.

Since his inception to Dami Duro in 2011, Davido has been the driver of Afrobeats, integrating African rhythms with global influence. His collaboration with international stars like Chris Brown, Nicki Minaj and Lil Baby has expanded the genre’s influence, making him a huge fan base across the continent. His album Eternal breaks streaming records, further demonstrating his ability to develop while staying true to his roots.

Aside from music, Davido played a key role in directing rising artists through his record label DMW. His philanthropy and efforts to improve his youthful talent reflect his commitment to the future of the African music industry.

His Rolling Stone Africa cover was not only a personal victory, but Afrobeats, strengthening its growing impact on the global stage. As genres continue to dominate international lists and festivals, Davido remains at the forefront, inspiring a new generation of African artists.
