    Bayelsa logs in 4.2 billion n20 million monthly IGR, Credit Electronics Admission System

    • Bayelsa State has experienced growth in internally generated revenue (IGR).

    • The substantial increase is attributed to the introduction of an electronic ticketing (electronic ticketing) system that eliminates cash leaks, curbs corruption and increases transparency in tax collections.

    Bayelsa State announced a significant increase in its internal revenue (IGR) to reach 4.2 billion guilds in a month, marking a 320% increase in previous figures.

    This historical achievement is attributed to the introduction of an electronic ticketing (electronic ticketing) system that eliminates cash leaks, curbs corruption and increases transparency in tax revenues.

    According to Daniel Eniekezimene, chairman of the Bayelsa State Internal Revenue Service (BIRS), the government has transitioned to a fully automated tax collection system to ensure all payments from transport operators, merchants and businesses go directly to state inventory.

    The electronic ticketing platform generates instant receipts, making transactions traceable and reducing the chance of ransomware.

    “This is a turning point for Bayelsa. We have blocked revenue leaks and made sure every Kobo collected by each Kobo goes directly to the government account,” Eniekezimene said.

    Governor Douye Diri expressed his commitment to ensuring that every Byers benefited from these reforms, noting: “This unprecedented revenue growth means we can now invest more in the road, schools and healthcare.”

    Governor Bayelsa bans Wike from entering state

    Bayelsa Governor Duoye Diri banned hosting FCT Minister Nyesom Wike anywhere in the state. The decision was announced at a security press conference on Friday, March 28.

    According to Governor Dillie, a certain George Turner announced plans to host Vick in the state, which the governor saw as a threat to the peace of Belsal.
