A 14-year-old pregnant middle school student, identified as nickel difference, has committed suicide in Egba in the Agatu local government area of Benue State.
The incident happened after her mother named her the man who immersed her on Saturday, March 29, 2025.
A neighbor who determined she was Eni’s mom told Punch that the girl who attended school in Otukpo on Thursday returned home as signs of pregnancy.
“Her mother noticed some signs of pregnancy and asked her if she was pregnant. The girl fled the village clinic during the tremendous pressure and threats,” the source said.
“A substance suspected to be gammalin was later discovered in her room and she was taken to a village clinic called the “Ghana Clinic” in the village.
Dr. Oyaje Sule, the clinic’s medical director, widely known as Dr. Garner, said the girl was taken to her clinic on Saturday morning.
“It’s true that they brought a 14-year-old girl to my clinic this morning when her mother forced her to reveal who was responsible for the pregnancy when they were suspected of taking gammalin.”
“However, when the situation got out of control, I referred her to the hospital at Agatu local government headquarters, Obagaji, who unfortunately died on the way.
“When I talked to you, the girl, who was between 13 and 14, was buried. Unfortunately, she lost her father a few years ago.”
