    Welders, Fitterers Association closes recruitment negligence – Daily Report Nigeria

    Protesters from the Nigerian Welders Association (NWA) and the Nigerian Senior Staff Association (Fissan) closed the welding operations of Stirling Global Company in Ozoro on Monday, near the Ogini oil field of the Issoko Northern Region Government, in India’s welder recruitment and accessories recruitment and in two agencies, the North Region Government Government Region of Solta.

    The aggrieved protesters brought various placards with inscriptions such as “Indian welder/fitter must go”.

    They called on President Bola Tinubu and Delta State Governor, Sherriff Oberevwori, to quickly call for orders to order the management of Sterling Global to repatriate Indian welders, fitters and assistants to return to its country to maintain the existing industrial harmony in the state.

    Protesters stopped welding operations at Sterling Global in the Ogini oil field in the eyes of company security agents. The soldiers on the scene are etiquette as they do not harass or harass protesters.

    They insisted that they had enough qualified welders and assemblers to do the work done by the Indians, and as they pointed out, they did similar major welding and fitting jobs for various companies in the country.

    They accused Sterling Global of ignoring the country’s existing local content laws, “enables communities and catchments to provide 60% of the workforce and 40% of the company’s workforce”

    According to them, “The local content laws for 40% of the company’s workforce recruitment positions are targeted at Nigerians rather than foreigners unless the country cannot send such personnel in the field of expertise”.
