George Turnah, South-South Regional Secretary of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), revealed the reasons for his adoption of the Federal Capital Territory Minister (FCT), with Nyesom Wike as his political leader.
Turnah explained that after being separated from the governor of Bayelsa State, it was decided to choose Wike, and Douye Diri was the personal choice.
He explained through a statement that he did not fight anyone and that his decision to lift the tent with Wike should be respected by the people concerned.
He urged those he called political businessmen to avoid putting down their names to advance their political careers.
Turnah said in a statement titled: “I haven’t fought with anyone: My political decision is personal.” Turnah said that in 2019 and 2023, when he decided to support Governor Diri, his personal choice was his personal choice, and his decision to join the political force along with Presidents Wike and Bola Tinubu was also a personal choice.
He said:In 2019 and 2023, I chose to support and cooperate politically with Bayelsa State Governor Douye Diri. At this juncture, I made a new decision to support the immediate political decision of Chief Nyesom Wike, who is now my political leader.
“I am also in line with the New Hope Management that supports President Bra Tinub, especially in its efforts to improve the efforts of the Nigerian people while continuing to serve as a dedicated member and official with the PDP.
