Nigerian singer Portable announced his past issues with Olamide and Asake, illuminating his journey to fame and the challenges he faced along the way.

Controversial Nigerian singer Portable, born in Habeeb Okikiola Badmus, is open to his past social media rants to Olamide, revealing why he criticized the YBNL boss.

In a recent interview with Quincy Jonze of Echo Room, Portable explains that his frustration stems from Olamide’s lack of direct guidance. Compare the situation to his relationship with the British rapper Septathis ZaziOo Crooner said Skepta guided him closely, and he thought Olamide hadn’t done that.

“Olamide gave me Zazu, I used it to visit the world, but he didn’t hold my hand like Skepta to guide me,” Portable says. “I just ran without management. He should have taken me away.”

Portable also said Olamide should have signed him to YBNL at the time, but now believes he has exceeded this level, claiming that only Sony Music can sign him. He further claimed that Olamide’s then-signed man Asake copied his dance moves and style.

“Olamide can’t sign me now, I’m too big. Only Sony Music can sign me. At that time, Olamide could sign me, but now he can only bring me a bigger deal.” He announced.

Despite these claims, the Portable Portable clarified that he had no problem with Asake and Olamide, adding that whenever he mentioned someone’s name (whether it was criticism or praise), it helped them trend.

“I have no problem with Asake, he is my friend. If I talk about someone, they should be grateful. I’m a blessing – whether I’m insulting or praising them, they’ll tend to trend,” He said.

Portable’s comments reignited conversations among fans, reinvigorating debates about his influence in the Afrobeats scene.
