Man sentenced to life imprisonment for shooting his ex in Ekiti

The Ekiti State High Court, sitting in Ado Ekiti, sentenced Olasunkanmi Kareem, a 41-year-old man, to life imprisonment for life in prison, trying to shoot his former boss by shooting him.

The offender was arraigned on November 18, 2024 on an attempted M8rder charge, contrary to Section 241 of the Ekiti Criminal Code of 2021.

“That day, he called me around 8pm to ask about the carburetor I helped him fix. When I told him I didn’t see it, he became abusive and threatened to let me find my place anywhere, and I was joking. I thought he was joking. Later, I called him and he told me where he was.

We met in a workshop of a volcano machine and then had an argument. I have a gallon of gas in my hand. Since it was dark, I didn’t see it until he poured it into me. When I realized it was gas, I tried to run, I tried to run, but my body was already in a craze. I was rushing to suffer a craze. Narrative
