Journalist David Hundeyin questioned the “JAPA” syndrome among many Nigerians.

In an article shared on his X Handle, David tells how one of his friends moved him and his family from one country to another, seeking the well-known green ranch.

He wondered if there is any benefit for Nigerians at the moment just “roaming the world like nomadic cattle,” bringing their certificates and skills to everyone who will give them residency or citizenship. ”

Hundeyin notes that the system is the same no matter where Nigerian goes, and it aims to exploit “humiliation and exploitation, regardless of the degree or professional achievement he or she possesses, humiliation and dehumanization.”

“The day I realized my life was “end” and I realized that starting from the second half of the year, I would officially approach 50. I am no longer a “youth”. I think everything that started life as a kid would never happen because I was too old or need to happen now because I would soon be too old.

And I knew my life was basically over and I decided that I might as well die and do something worthwhile because I would get older, and one day I would die.

I know people who left Nigeria in 2000 to study medicine in Ghana. After a few years in qualifying and working, he left Ghana with his wife and children in 2017, before “Japa” heading to Yookay. After 7 years at the NHS, I opened LinkedIn last week and found out that OGA’s family from Yookay to Australia again “Japa” in January 2025. This guy started the expansion process of “Japa” from Nigeria 25 years ago when I was in my 6th grade and now he is planning with a wife and 2 kids, he is still in his wife and 2 kids, he is still another batch””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””

What kind of life is this? Is this what you honestly believe in Nigerians coming to this world? Our role on Earth is to roam anywhere, such as nomadic cattle, to everyone who will give us certificates and skills to everyone who resides or citizenship – until they get tired of us, then we lead our families and start submitting passports and documents to once again spread across the world half the world? Do we seriously believe that life is not just about eternal refusal to face our Nigeria problem, but also from the UK to Canada to Australia to Saudi Arabia, every time we hope that our people don’t have too many people to follow us so that our latest destinations don’t “ditch”?

When did it stop for God’s sake?

Because of the same disease that plagues the UK, Australia, New Zealand, Canada and other other “JAPA” destinations. Actually, I am currently working on a story about Nigerian doctors in Canada who have written and passed the RCPSC exam since 2020, just having the university retroactively change the cutoff mark afterwards in order to exclude them from practice in Canada (this did not happen to white immigrant doctors who wrote the same exam and got the same grade). They don’t want us there, except being artists, athletes or members of the lower class, who can make economic use in a variety of ways, including cheap/slave labor, own shareholders and tradable stocks in their private, for-profit prisons.

If you want, Japa travels through the whole of Europe, plus 5 eyes – Oyibo is Oyibo. The system is the same. It is designed to exploit, humiliate and dehumanize – no matter how much or professional achievement you have. As long as you look like you, the only place in the world that has all the personality shooting is in Africa. So why not do something “crazy” and deploy any assets, knowledge or skills that you have to get your country out of, which is the first thing that puts you “Japa” in foreign shackles?

Or do you want to be 55 years old and still submit your passport to Oyibo person half of your age, praying to God this time to visa visa approval, maybe Estonia or Latvia? That’s that life? ? ? ”
