    Former New York City boss General Tsiga returns to freedom after 56 days of imprisonment

    • Brigadier General Maharazu Tsiga, former Director General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), has been released after being imprisoned for 56 days.

    • Tsiga was kidnapped from his hometown in Katsina State on February 5, 2025, and was initially kidnapped along with nine other individuals.

    • Despite the ransomware payment of 180 million guilds, Tsiga was imprisoned for weeks before being released on April 2, 2025.

    Brigadier General Maharazu Tsiga (RTD), former Director General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), has been imprisoned for 56 days. Tsiga was kidnapped from his hometown in the Bacori local government area of ​​Casina on February 5, 2025.

    According to sources, Siga was initially kidnapped along with nine other people, attracting attention nationwide.

    Despite his family’s redemption of 180 million guilds, Tsiga was imprisoned for weeks, leaving her kidnappers in trouble.

    A family member revealed that after handing over the ransom to the kidnapper, a week of silence was heard only on March 11, 2025.

    The kidnapper reportedly called for additional money, but the family chose not to comply with further requirements. Sources also pointed out that the Tsiga was held in Zamfara state before it was shipped to Abuja.

    According to a senior military official, the retired general is currently in good health after his release.

    NYSC members regain freedom after family pays N11M ransom

    Rofiat Lawal, a member of the National Youth Service Corps, was kidnapped on Tuesday on the Benin-Ore Expressway and returned to freedom after her family paid a ransom of Rs 1.1 lakh.

    Lawal was kidnapped while traveling from Benin State, Edo State to Ibadan, Oyo State to restore her main mission.
