British Nigeria actor John Boyega slammed the Star Wars series and its fans as he reflected on the rebound of racism.
Bactor 33 said the franchise was “so white, like a black man [it] Yes,’ when appearing in the new two-part AppleTV+ documentary, it ranked number one on the call sheet.
The actor said: “Star Wars has always been the whitest, elite space atmosphere.

“They can play their best friends, but once we run into their heroes, once we lead, once we pioneer once we develop, it’s like, “Oh my goodness, that’s too much!
Boyega played the series’ first black ex-Steep Finn in Force Awakens (2015) and its two sequels The Last Jedi (2017) and The Rise of Skywalker (2019).
He also pointed out how fans play a big role in the few black characters in the franchise.
“When some Star Wars fans try to say, “Okay, we have Lando Calrissian and Samuel L. Jackson! “It’s like telling me how many cookies are in the cookie dough. Like, they’re just scattered there, man!
Despite his problems with the franchise, Boyga acknowledged his first Star Wars movie was a “basic moment” in his career and called it a “lifelong opportunity.”
“We waited for several months. When that big phone call comes in, that’s all these stars talking about it changing their lives and things. It’s like, “That’s it? That’s it!” This is an attack on reality. ”
Boyega has previously criticized the franchise for significantly reducing the importance of his character, reducing smaller characters from co-leaders of Force Awakens and Jedi in the Rise of Skywalker.
“What I’m going to say to Disney is not to bring out black characters, but to put them more important than them in the franchise and then push them aside. It’s not good,” he said in an interview with UK GQ in 2020.
At the time he claimed the trilogy gave “all the nuances” to the main character Rey (played by Ridley) and the little villain Kylo Ren (played by the driver).
