CBN describes the report as an error.
There are extensive reports that CBN unveiled high book notes to enhance cash transactions.
The report said Apex Bank will introduce new notes to reduce cash processing costs and improve liquidity management.
Some reports attribute the introduction of the new notes to the so-called Lieutenant Governor Dr. Ibrahim Tahir Jr.
It is reported that the new notes will be issued on May 1, 2025.
However, CBN posted a report on its X page: “This content is not from the Central Bank of Nigeria. Please note that CBN’s official website is CBN.GOV.NG.”
