Dr. Julius Takeme reiterated his commitment to sustainable development throughout the Council, in the Brutu State Regional Regional Executive Chairman of the Delta State.

Takeme reiterated his determination to implement a determination to improve the development of Burutu on Wednesday, when members of the Ijaw Publishers Forum paid a courtesy appeal to the local government secretariat.

The visit marks a check-in trip by the media executives conglomerate in the Iya local government areas across the country.

Speaking before the IPF entourage, Takeme said his administration assumed the umbilical cord for more of Governor Sheriff Oberevwori’s agenda.

“In the agenda of Governor Sheriff Oberevwori, the government has implemented several visible infrastructure developments in Burutu.

Takeme revealed: “This task allowed us to give Burutu a priority to give me the urgent need to face-to-face under the watch. This determination prompted us to build a 1km leg of the internal road network.”

Olotu of the Kingdom of Obotebe said his government has further invested in public health, environmental cleanliness, housing and general welfare of civil servants, including senior Council officials who have experienced great discomfort in the performance of their duties.

He listed such intervention projects as renovation of the health centre in Labulouseigha and Ofougbene communities, construction and renovation of senior housing units for senior employees of the Council and construction of residential areas for the President of the Customary Court.

Others include the construction of three modern public toilets, drug distribution for sanitation centres, and more than 2,000 times of maintaining cleaning at local government headquarters.

Takeme also revealed that many other projects are underway, awaiting official commissions for celebrations in his office.

The IPF, led by publishers of Austin Ozobo, a Niger Delta activist and publisher of Congress newspapers, explained that the trip formed part of the human body’s mandate to examine the governance and development of the entire Ijaw Nation.

Ozobo praised Takeme’s government development and progress to date, urging him to stay motivated and bring more governance dividends to the Burutu people.
