Pep Guardiola responded to Kevin de Bruyne’s decision to leave Manchester City after his contract expired at the end of the season (2024/25).
Guardiola speaks at a pre-match press conference ahead of the Premier League Manchester Derby this weekend. The interview was an exciting time for Espanyol, who will see one of his top players leave the club.
DeBruen announced that he will send an emotional letter to club supporters via his social media platform on Friday, April 4, 2025.
What did Guardiola say to Kevin de Bruen?
“The joy we live with him this time, He gives us all, the joy of living in his humanity, it is a sad day and a happy day. There is no need to tell us about success in the past decade – without him, he cannot be imagined. Without him. [Kompany] Left or Sergio [Aguero] Left or David Silva left, their contributions…I can say more names, these three are examples. It was a sad day. But we still have 10 games, hopefully 11 games, 6 games at home, we can still enjoy it with fans, and he will get the love and recognition that I’m pretty sure all of us, fans certainly deserve.
He continues
Emotional moments. With Sergio [Aguero] For example, it wasn’t easy for me to tell him that we wouldn’t move on because some players did it for the club we live in now. This situation is always so difficult. The emotions are there, and they give us too much. Can you imagine how we played and how it was really nice in some seasons without Kevin? and Leroy [Sane] Or Rahim [Sterling] In range or when Sergio is running in pocket or with Gabriel [Jesus] And all the forwards – they benefit from Kevin’s talents and skills! With 280 goals and assists, it’s huge. ”
Manchester City supporters will hope Kevin de Bruyne will win the FA Cup and end the UEFA Champions League position, ending his season at the club.
