The following list will help you first choose the most important basic items when you hover over our extensive list of suggestions.
Handmade paper – Different types – White, black, bright colors and thin paper
card – Thick and thin – Choose your favorite color, corrugated cardboard comes in handy.
Soft Pencil – Markers can be erased easily
eraser – Often ignored until you need one.
Knife sharpener – Another often overlooked item.
Adhesive or masking tape
– To ensure that the project is secured while working, only once you have done a wet (glued or painted) project can it fall to the floor facing down!
Glue stick – High quality.
Paper boat glue pen – Sturdy glue holds all paper drills in place, and the very fine technique allows you to precisely bond the most delicate pieces.
Strong glue – Good quality for a quick dry, colorless or hot glue gun I use (choose a gun with a stand).
painting – I prefer acrylic and water colors. The paint pens on our recommended list are super fun items for rock art.
Color media – These can be pencils, crayons, crayons you like to use.
Scissors
– Large scissors and small embroidered scissors. I don’t have embroidery, but when I don’t have the cutting pad and the scissors for the cutter knife, I use it for super cut.
Paint brush – Used to paint and paint excess drying products such as glitter and distress powder for aging appearance.
Double prompt mark – These are great for coloring, painting, mixing, calligraphy, sets on our recommended list (links are on top) with 60 awesome colors in a beautiful container that they really work.
Paper punching – I prefer the hand I hold, a hole paper punch for precise punching so that you can see exactly where the hole is. If I want to wrap my box or bag with a ribbon or baker, I use it to make labels, party printable hats, masks and holes in handmade boxes.

Self-healing cutting pad
– This is absolutely necessary if you use a hand-made knife or a rotary tool. A quality handmade knife will go a long way and is very helpful to cut out the interior patterns that are difficult to reach with a pair of scissors.
ruler
– Shorter ruler. I have a 12-inch steel ruler that is as old as the mountains and it still works well. The steel ruler won’t fall into nasty humps and bumps, and it’s one of the best items I’ve purchased. The weight also helps securely hold the paper, especially when cut with a hand knife.
Bone scorer – It gives your project a cute rounded professional look when you get the fold line with the bone scorer before folding. I often use a lot of my stuff when making cards, thank you notes, packaging, etc.
Circle – The 2-inch (inch) round punch is a great item for cupcake toppers, card making, generally round cuts and labels. I also have a .75 inch time during my Christmas period when I knock out colorful circles from beautiful paper and stick to the Hershey kiss. I put them in small oracle bags as small gifts or stock fillers.
Kitchen paper rolls – Or facial tissue and cotton are perfect for spills and corrections.
