Police authorities in Ebony State have confirmed the kidnapping of Blessing Adagba, coordinator of the Ohaukwu Local Government NGBO Central Development Center.
The incident occurred around midnight on Thursday and attracted deep attention throughout the community.
Police spokesman SP Joshua Ukandu said the anti-killing squad has been mobilized and is working tirelessly to ensure the release of Adagba. The kidnapping was reportedly taken in the Okposhi Eheku community, where armed personnel disguised as soldiers rushed into the coordinator’s residence.
“When soldiers invaded the soldiers’ residence, a group of men in disguise were disguised. They asked her to open the door, but she refused, questioning why the soldiers came during such (weird) hours,” a source told the channel. “The kidnapper waved his guns, overwhelmed the coordinator and kidnapped her to an unknown location.”
It is said that residents and security agents of Ohaukwu are continuing to work together to ensure the safe rewards of Adagba. The incident also prompted local leaders to call for urgent action.
Community stakeholders expressed concern about the disturbing rise of kidnapping cases in the region. They urged state and federal authorities to strengthen security operations and restore confidence among the people.
