Convicted murderer Taylor Schabusiness participated in another court outbreak Friday, April 4, assaulted one of her lawyers during a hearing with the alleged assault on prison employees. Schurusiness, who sat with the lawyer, was sidling by, but she was sidling by when she accidentally threw her elbow into the lawyer’s arm. Court officials quickly intervened and placed her on the ground.
The incident was quickly handled by the officer, and her lawyer seemed unquestionably shrugged casually after the attack, seemingly indifferent to violence. This latest outbreak adds to Schbusiness’s history of aggression in court. She had previously attacked a lawyer in 2023 and threw similar elbows before being subdued by an officer.
Schursunces, who was convicted in 2022 for rape, murder and dismemberment, strangled him with a chain and then cut his head and genitals with a jagged knife. The violent nature of her crimes and the behavior in court raises questions about the challenges of defending her, leaving some wondering if any attorneys are willing to continue to represent her.
