A replacement teacher in Ohio has been arrested after allegedly paid to the impending killing of a student who was about to become an ex-husband. Stephanie Demetrius, 44, contacted a student at City Scholar High School in Columbus on March 26 and offered him $2,000 to murder her husband, who was charged with a felony conspiracy.
“This particular teacher tried to fix the young man’s murder,” said James Fuqua of Sgt.
According to investigators, Demetrius provided students with $250 in cash as a down payment for the murder, and they claimed to have a recorded phone conversation between teachers and students to discuss the rest of the payment. Initially, the report said the student’s mother found suspicious information on her son’s phone, but law enforcement sources clarified that the student went to his mother for fear, prompting her to contact the authorities.
Further reports show that Demetrius allegedly discussed when her child left home and pointed out that her estranged husband worked from home. She reportedly refuted concerns about her neighbors hearing gunshots.
Demetrius has released $150,000 in bonds, which will be held in court next week. Urban Scholars College High School declined to comment on the incident.
