Former Liverpool midfielder Arthur Melo was robbed in Barcelona’s wide daylight.
The Brazilian midfielder is now playing for Girona in La Liga, and Juventus borrowed Juventus after a temporary Premier League stay at Jurgen Klopp two seasons ago.
Marca reports that Arthur Melo has some time shopping in Barcelona and pays for parking tickets when the incident occurs.
The event is said to have happened at 4 p.m. in Passeig de Gracia, where a man reportedly jumped off a motorcycle and stole a luxury watch and then accelerated.
It was reported that the robbery involved two people, and Mello was not injured and reported the incident to the police.
Marca said Melo was training normally on Friday and would likely serve Girona in a clash with Alaves on Saturday.
It is not the first time the 28-year-old has been robbed, and two thieves reportedly broke into his home and threatened his brother with weapons in 2019.
The break-in occurred when Barcelona won the first leg of the Champions League semifinals six years ago. It is understood that the two people occupied valuables including jewelry and Rolex watches.
Local reports said that at around 11 p.m. after the game, Mello’s unnamed brother found two masked men in the house, who placed a weapon similar to a screwdriver on his throat and forced him to open a safe with valuables. There were no reports of injuries.
