Former Colombia International Jorge Eladio Bolano Correa died at the age of 47.
On Sunday, local media confirmed the death of Jorge Eladio Bolano Correa.
According to Bogota newspaper El Tiempo, Bolano suddenly had a heart attack while attending a relative’s birthday party.
To save him, he was soon taken to a nearby clinic, but sadly, he succumbed to his condition shortly afterwards.
Bolano’s outstanding career spans several clubs, including the famous clubs in Parma, Modena, Lecce and Sampdoria.
As a midfielder, he is known for his skills on the ball and his ability to control the pace of the game. His influence on the venue extends beyond club football; he proudly represented Colombia in 36 games and was part of the 1998 FIFA World Cup national team, showing his talent on the world stage.
The Colombian Football Federation expressed condolences in a statement, saying: “It is sad that we express our sincere condolences to our family and loved ones, a former player of the Colombia men’s national team, a dedicated professional football player and a respected coach. He died in the city of Cukuta on Sunday, April 6, leaving an irreparable effect for those who know him.”
