A Manchester United fan was arrested and charged with being slapped in the face by Manchester Trek Jack Grealish among fans of Manchester Derby.
The city midfielder was attacked by a crowd next to the tunnel at the bottom of the end of Stretford after Sunday’s 0-0 draw.
The raid triggered a police investigation, resulting in the arrest of a 20-year-old man.
The man was subsequently charged with assault and will appear in court in July.
Grealish, 29, is believed to have not been seriously injured after the attack. He came to Ilkay Gundogan in the 74th minute.
A spokesman for Greater Manchester Police said: ’20-year-old Alfie Holt of Droylsden Haven Drive was charged with assault. He will appear in Manchester District Court.
“This allegation involves an incident at Old Trafford Football Club yesterday.”
The event happened at the end of the game, with Manchester City’s Phil Foden being ruthlessly ridiculed by home fans.
After the game, Manchester City owner Pep Guardiola said a derogatory ode about the family of England organizers indicated “lack of class”.
‘The lack of courses. But this is not unity, it is the people, do you know? Guardiola said.
“We are so exposed, people on the screen on the world football – managers, owners and football players.
“Honestly, I don’t understand the thoughts of the people involved in Mom Phil. Lack of integrity, class, they should be ashamed.
