    Many people worry about D3AD collapse with nightclub rooftops in the Dominican RepublicAuthorities said Tuesday that at least 27 people have been confirmed dead and more than 160 were injured after the collapse of Santo Domingo, the capital of the Dominican Republic.

    The tragic event took place in the early morning of the live performance of the famous Merengue Singer Rubby Pérez in the early morning of the Jet Set Club.

    Rescue work is underway as emergency teams continue to search for potential survivors in the debris. Juan Manuel Méndez, director of the Emergency Operations Center, said he hoped that some victims might still be alive with rubble. “We think many of them are alive, which is why the authorities here don’t give up until the rubble that no one has left behind,” he said.

    Officials have not determined what caused the roof to collapse, which happened nearly an hour after the concert began. Authorities say Ruby Perez is injured. His manager, Enrique Paulino, recounted the chaotic moments that led to the collapse, saying: “It happened so quickly. I managed to throw myself into the corner.” He also revealed that the band’s saxophonist was killed in the incident, which he initially thought was an earthquake.

    President Luis Abinader responded to the tragedy by posting a message on social media, noting that all emergency services are “relatively” to help those affected. He posted on X: “We deeply regret the tragedy that happened at Jet Set Nightclub. We have been happening in one minute.”

    Treating the injured at a nearby hospital, an official read out the survivor’s name loudly as anxious family and friends listened, and many shouted through tears, desperately searching for news.

    The footage was allegedly shot inside a nightclub and then collapsed on social media, showing customers glance at the ceiling and moving away from the center of the dance floor. It heard screams before the video suddenly ended. Although the video has not been independently verified yet, it adds to the sense of shock surrounding the event.

    The tragedy criticized the Dominican capital as authorities continued their investigation and search work.
