
A state witness was killed by a gunman in Weinberg District Court in Cape Town, South Africa.
The shooting occurred before 11 a.m. on Tuesday, April 8, 2025.
The victim allegedly suffered three gunshot wounds in the head.
According to sources, the so-called shooter got on and off the white Toyota Quantum and got the chance to the courthouse.
The victim sat outside the courtroom in the hall and the gunman walked towards him and fired several shots.
The corridors of the court screamed and confused as people inside landed on the ground for safety.
The gunman fled the scene.
The National Prosecution Agency (NPA) confirmed that in the ongoing cases, the victim was a witness.
The incident was believed to be related to the gang.
Western Cape Police spokesman Sergeant Wesley Twigg confirmed the shooting.
“Weinberg police investigated the murder after a shooting in court on Weinberg Church Road on Tuesday, April 8, 2025. The victim suffered gunshot wounds on his body and was declared dead by medical staff,” Twigg said.
Police are still investigating the motive for the attack.
“The attack was part of the police investigation and no arrests have been made,” Twig said.
