    • The Nigerian Labor Congress (NLC) has directed its members to begin mobilization to prepare to take over the 36 offices and the State Secretariat of the Abuja Labor Party.

    • The move comes after the Supreme Court revoked the lower court’s judgment.

Joe Ajaero, president of the Nigerian Labor Assembly, has written to the union leaders instructing them to mobilize members to prepare to take over the 36 offices and the State Secretariat of the Abuja Labor Party.

The move was the revocation of the lower court’s early ruling in the Supreme Court’s judgment.

“As we warned him a year ago, Nigerian workers and real Labour members will always collect what belongs to them, no matter how long the prank lasts,” Ajaero said in an internal memo. He urged workers, real Labour members and democratic enthusiasts to stand by and peacefully take back all Labor offices across the country.

The NLC president expressed disappointment, and despite judgment, Abure and his team continued to show as state officials. Ajaero stressed the need for an independent National Election Commission to remove its name from its portal.

“We expect their cooperation in following the rule of law, and any action to the contrary will be presented to our dear country as the Banana Republic,” Ajaro said.

He added that Nigeria’s workers and people, especially true Labour members, would not sit down and watch immoral factors, blasphemy of Nigeria’s laws and the Supreme Court’s trial.

Labour’s state secretary Alhaji Umar Farouk responded that they were preparing a statement of threat to Ajaero. “We will make a statement soon. Threats are nothing new. We are used to their breakdown,” he said.
