The only executive in Rivers State, Ibok-Ebke Ekwe Ibas (Retired) has approved the appointment of administrators for 23 local government areas of the state.
The development was made public Wednesday morning through an official statement from state government secretary Ibibia Worika.
Although the announcement confirmed the approval of the appointment, it is worth noting that the identity of the person elected to oversee the various local government councils was not disclosed.
“His Excellency, the administrator of Rivers State, Deputy Admiral (Rtd.) Ibok-ete Ekwe Ibas, CFR, has approved the appointment of administrators in 23 local government areas of the state,” the statement said.
It further added that the governor also reorganized several government agencies, committees and the board of directors of the times that had been suspended.
“He also approved the reconstruction of some agencies, committees and official committees, which were suspended earlier.
“All appointments will be effective starting Monday, April 7, 2025.”
All new appointments are effective Monday, April 7, 2025, according to the press release.
