Chelsea have officially confirmed their travel team before the conference league quarterfinals.
Chelsea Football Club officially announced their travel team, which is a huge squad with a handful of first-team players ahead of their Europa Conference League match against Astana.
The Blues faced a tough 7,000-mile trip to Kazakhstan, taking part in a Thursday night encounter, just three days before returning to the Premier League on Sunday.
Manager Enzo Maresca chose to rest most of his Premier League regulars, playing the essentially “Team C” described by the club insider, which includes some “B-Team” players, including experience and leadership.
Several highly rated college graduates will embark on a journey, and while European exposure is challenging for their development, the travel environment is full of challenges. Even for young people who may not be involved in actual competitions, the experience of senior European teams is seen as an important development milestone.
