Abdullahi Ganduje, the president of the National Progressive Conference (APC), formally issued a return certificate on Wednesday, returning to Nicholas Ukachukwu, who will represent the party in the upcoming governoral elections in Anambra state.

At a meeting held at the APC National Secretariat in Abuja on Wednesday, the primary election committee chaired by Cross River Governor Bassey Otu submitted a report and confirmed Ukachukwu as the winner, with a total of 1,455 votes.
Ganduje thanked Otu for the “fair and transparent process” of the committee.
He called on all party members, especially other candidates and their supporters to rally after Ukachukwu.
Ukachukwu received the party’s nomination in the primary election held on Saturday, where he achieved a major victory with other rival Valentine Ozigbo, among other candidates.

Anambra governor election is scheduled to be held on November 8.

“We want to correct mistakes we have made in the past and we will make sure that anyone who wants to compete must be a member of the Labor Party rather than a transit.
“It’s going to be an ideological party, not you’re just electors and they’re going to have anything to come.
“We have to get the senators to agree with us, even if we fail, we fail, but the failure is better than on the wrong side. We will do this for Nigeria.”
