
Two people were reportedly suspected of being herders on the main roads in the western government area of Gwen, Benue State.
Witnesses said one of the victims was located on Wednesday, April 9, 2025 at the M8RDER of Atukpu Village, located at the headquarters of Taraku-Naka Road and about one kilometer from Naka Town.
The second victim was on the same day K on Naka-Adoka Road!
Residents spoke to Daily Trust by phone on Thursday, expressing concern that all three main roads to Naka have become increasingly dangerous due to the ongoing attacks by bandits.
Gwer West LGA chairman Victor Ormin confirmed Kllings and lamented the poor safety conditions in the area.
“A young man was attacked, K! led when he returned from the roof of the house in Taraku-Naka Road. Similarly, another man was on the same day on Adoka-Naka Road.
“Makurdi-Naka Road is no longer safe, and now other roads are no longer safe. Naka itself is under threat – these incidents are happening within five kilometers of the town.”
Ormin expressed concern that ground security agents might be overwhelmed, despite Gov. Hyacinth Alia’s efforts to curb the wave of violence.
