Police said the legend began with a three-car crash in the eastbound lane of Highway 134 around 3 p.m., when a suspect was believed to have been involved in the crash, fled the vehicle and fled on foot.
When the suspect ran from the scene, the officer said Lauren came out of one of the nearby houses with a weapon in his hand. When the police tried to get her to put down their weapons, they said she refused to listen, shot Lauren and hit her shoulder.
Police say Lauren, the author of the trade, returned to the house after being beaten and later came out of the residence.
She was then booked in connection with the attempted murder.
Meanwhile, the driver of the car crashed in the crash was detained by California Highway Patrol personnel and cited and released.
Alana Altmeyer and her brother Guy Binn explained to Ktla that they were on the highway Tuesday afternoon when they saw the suspect leave the scene.

“I saw a gentleman walking on his shoulder. So my brother and I walked over and thought he was leaving the scene of the accident,” said Artemeyer.
As they chased, she said the man tried to run to the other side of the highway and fell.
“He bleeded from his head, mouth and knees,” she said.
Still, the suspect was able to jump over the side of the highway and run a route on the embankment, as Binn said he tried to keep up.
“I chased him on one side of the highway on several fences,” he said.
“He has a bag and a sweater. I got his schoolbag. I got his sweater and I was already big and I couldn’t keep up with that guy. I chased him to the park and I lost him.
Fortunately, LA police were able to catch up with suspects near the intersection of Waldo Plaza and Eagle Vesta near Eagle Rock in Los Angeles, when they said Lauren was involved.
