
The Bauchi State Police Department has conducted a thorough investigation into the Jungle Justice case that left a man dead from Peter and left another 38-year-old Dokagk Danladi, severely injured.
The incident occurred on April 9 in the Lushi area of Bauchi Prefecture.
According to a statement released on Thursday, April 10, two victims were accused of stealing dogs and were subsequently attacked by a group of young people around 11:30 p.m. Danladi suffered multiple machete wounds in the head and was taken to Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital, according to a statement released on Thursday, April 10. His companion Peter found lifeless at the scene.
A team of detectives led by district police visited the attack site to collect evidence and identify relevant personnel. Wakil confirmed that an investigation was underway and vowed to make sure that all those responsible were held accountable will not leave any footsteps.
Condemning the attack, Sani-Omolori Aliyu’s Bauchi State Police Chief described the act as barbaric and serious offense to the rule of law. He stressed that no citizen has the right to take the law into his own hands, insisting that no matter the crime, all suspects must be handed over to law enforcement for due process.
Aliyu assured residents that police would not tolerate any form of mob justice and urged the public to remain calm as the investigation proceeded. He confirmed the order’s commitment to upholding justice and ensured that such illegal acts were not repeated.
