Enugu Governor Peter Mbah has called on nursing students in the state not to leave the state after graduation to curb the state’s health department’s mind.

The governor appealed at the 2024/2025 teenage girl admission ceremony in Enugu on Thursday, April 10.

He urged students to consider the state’s vast resources in training nursing and midwives in the state and give back to the state after graduation.

MBAH, represented by the Secretary of State Government (SSG), Professor Chidiebere Onyia, said “JAPA Syndrome” is a complete violation of the state’s policy, which has been training them for reasonable training.

“We don’t train you to spend all this money in the infrastructure and the first opportunity you bring to leave our healthcare facilities.

“One thing that is very special about us is how we improve the conditions of service so that when you work hard to get a certificate, you don’t leave our state.

“That’s why we’re not only training scholars, so you can see that this is a service, if you can return to our budget in 2024 and 2025, the highest investment is education and health,” Mba said.
