Sir Mick Jagger’s girlfriend, Melanie Hamrick, confirmed they were engaged, but there was no wedding bell yet.
The 81-year-old Rolling Stones legend met the beasts of Burden Singer, 37, 11 years ago, and they both welcomed their son Devereaux Octavian Basil into the world in 2016.
Now, Melanie finally confirmed that they were engaged when they actually proposed the rock idol a few years ago.
“We have been engaged for two or three years,” she told the French translator.
At present, there are still no plans to get married because she admits she really doesn’t want to “change” their relationship.
She added: “Maybe we will get married one day, maybe not. We are so happy in our current lives that I am too afraid to change anything.”
When it comes to their lasting romance, she insists that secrets are “support” and happiness.
“We try to support each other, get along with each other and make sure everyone is happy,” Melanie said. “It’s important to me and everything I work for.”
Back in 2023, Melanie hints at their engagement when she walked out on her finger with a giant diamond.
“I mean, I have to giggle because Mick gave me the ring? Yes. Yes. Yes? Yes,” she told people at the time.
“But what we like is the horny teenagers we give each other… It seems to me that this is a promise ring. We’ll be immature and call it a promise ring.”
At the time, a source claimed that during a trip to New York, Melanie “at the American Ballet Theatre, she told her friends that she had been engaged to Mick.”
“She’s obviously her ring is an engagement ring and is now his fiancé. Her family is also very aware of their engagement and is excited about it,” an insider told the Mirror.
In addition to Sir Mick’s son shared with Melanie, the musician has seven more children, bringing his total number of nurturing to eight.
His first child, Karis Hunt Jagger, was born in 1970 with American singer Marsha Hunt.
He married Bianca Pérez-Mora Macias from 1971 to 1977, and the former couple had a daughter, Jade Sheena Jezebel Jagger.
In 1977, he began dating Jerry Hall, with whom Jerry Hall had four children: Elizabeth’Lizzie’Scarlett Jagger, James Leroy Augustin Jagger, Ayeesha Jagger, and Gabriel Luke Beauregard Jagger.
Sir Meek’s seventh child, Lucas Maurice Morad Jagger, was born during an affair with model Luciana Gimenez during his relationship with Jerry.
Sir Mick and Jerry broke up in 1999 after discovering the incident, and he also had a relationship with fashion designer L’Wren Scott, which started in 2001.
