A group of voters in Kogi Central Senate District filed a lawsuit against Senate President Gosville Akpabio and the upper legislative chamber, challenging the six-month suspension of its representative Natasha Akpti Udoagen.

Neda Imaseun, chairman of the Senate Committee on Public Conduct, Ethics, Privileges and Public Petitions, noted that the panel’s investigation determined that Akpoti-uduaghan violated Senate rules.

The legal action was filed in the Federal High Court of Abuja and marked FHC/ABJ/CS/654/2025, and he believed that Akpoti-uduaghan’s moratorium violated the political representation of his voters.

Applicants sought to declare that the Senate lacks the rights (approval and enforcement) under Article 13, Chapter 1 (1) of the African People and People’s Rights (Raptation and Enforcement) Act, and they also demand a suspension of access with Akpoti-uduaghan and a right to place it in private and a right to place it in the year.
