Ugandan police arrested the wife of five-year-old mother and diplomat Mutsi Joline, allegedly M8rder of her two-year-old son Nganwa Rugari, in Kampala.
The child reportedly lives with his family at the residence of 8 Mutungo area, after landing on the first floor of the family home at 8:30 pm on April 1, 2025.
The tragic incident was a court-ordered DNA test for all five children, as part of an ongoing divorce lawsuit between Mutes and husband Chris Rugari. Zimbabwe Consul in Uganda.
The report shows that Mutesi, 40, realized that some children may not be the biological children of her husband.
Shortly before Nganwa’s tragic death, he and his 12-month-old sister planned to undergo DNA testing as part of the divorce procedure.
Chris Rugari has previously claimed that at least three children are not his biologically.
It was reported that after Mutesi’s death, Mutesi began contacting relatives, urging them to quickly remove the body from the hospital and then take it to the funeral home.
Relatives pointed out that she seemed to be very focused on burial arrangements even within minutes of the child falling from the apartment.
“She is calling people and urging them to come quickly to help move their bodies,” said a family member.
“It seems like she doesn’t want others to intervene.”
However, Rugari’s family insisted on waiting for police participation before the body could be removed, resulting in Mutesi’s arrest.
Rugari accused his wife of doing diplomatic affairs while performing diplomatic duties.
Meanwhile, diplomat Rugari was dismissed the fabricated case, and his estranged wife and her sympathizers radiated his words, saying he asked her to “removal of the uterus after their first son was born, and when his wife refused, Chris Rugari allowed her to have children with other men, who wanted only one of the children.”
Mr. Rugary strongly refuted such a narrative, insisting that the person behind it needs a sober test.
He confirmed reports on the DNA dispute, showing that tests show that two of his three older children are not offspring of his biological, which he said was the root of family misunderstandings, and he only learned about it in late 2023.
Police have opened a criminal investigation and detained Ms. Kanohri to help with the investigation after finding her accounts inconsistent, Kampala Metropolitan Police Department, spokesman Patrick Onyango said.
According to Onyango, Mutesi contacted an ambulance service shortly after the fall. The child was taken to Keatingtal Hospital and arrived at about 10:00 pm
“The doctor on duty examined the child and pointed out that he was conscious and showed no shocking symptoms. Pain relief was administered and a CT scan was recommended. However, the child was not accepted,” Onyango said.
Sadly, at about 5:00 am the next morning, Mutesi returned to the hospital with Nganwa, who was pronounced dead on arrival.
The police immediately notified and opened the death investigation file. Detectives visited Mutugo’s family residence to inspect the report’s autumn scene.
“In this survey, there was a big difference. Our team noted that the kid’s window was said to have not stolen the bar, closed, and its lock was intact. In addition, an autopsy conducted at KCCA Mortuary in Mulago showed no obvious physical harm on the child’s body.”
The inconsistency in the mother’s account and the lack of physical evidence supporting the fall resulted in the arrest of Joline Mutesi, who is currently in custody to assist in the ongoing investigation.
