The Benue State Local Government Election Petition Tribunal was convened in the NBA House of Representatives in Abuja and plans to issue its ruling today on April 12, 2025, involving local government elections originating from October 5, 2024.

Naija News The report said that local government regions were involved in the petitions, including Gboko, Tarda, Makurdi, Gwer West, Gwer East, Guma and Burku.

After weeks of legal debate and a thorough review of the election process and outcomes, these cases are highly anticipated.

The court was formally formed to resolve appeals arising from the decision of the initial government election petition court.

The Court of Appeal, led by Justice Dennis Igyuse and supported by Justices Michael Ugar and Maimuna Ikwulono, moved from Makurdi to Abuja in March 2025 due to security issues and ongoing strikes by judicial personnel.

Meanwhile, the governor of Benu state, hyacinth Claim he has succeeded Demolition and collapse Enter all the progress conferences (APCs) in the state.

Naija News Aria said this was expressed in its first ever media chat in Makurdi on Thursday. He asserted that he owe the 2023 victory of the people of Benue, not any political class, and he believes that the trend will repeat itself.

The governor described himself as a human-driven leader whose power is at the grassroots level, not political recognition or fall-out deals.

He said “As we said, we poured all the other political institutions into our party. Are there any small parties trying to show up? Maybe.

“But in most cases, when I say ‘crash’, I mean they see what we are doing and their concerns are being addressed. They are excited about the work we are doing for the country.

“But, will there be political games trying to ruin things? Yes, because their interests no longer cater to their interests. They may try to create obstacles, but as a unified body, we should not worry about any dissatisfaction.

“So, the governor said that the coast is obvious to him in the next election in 2027.

“Of course, everyone wants to take my position, but the question is: Are they capable? Are they for people? What new ideas do they bring in given the amount of work we do?

“The real advantage lies in the people, I am with the people. That’s what matters.

“The Benues know what we’re doing. They see the work. That’s the real movement.”
