Senator Theodore Orji, Governor of Abia, senator Theodore Orji, fiercely denounced his successor, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu, suggesting that he “carry his cross” and avoid making “careless statements” to others. This is a comment by Ikpeazu at an event held in Abuja, where he called elected leaders criticized their predecessor for being “lazy” and claimed Abia was in a “gloomy state” when she took office in 2015.
In a quick response, Senator Augie passed through his former liaison officer and senior assistant Hon. Ifeanyi Umere summoned Ikpeazu’s contradictory statement. Orji noted that although Ikpeazu condemned the leaders who criticized his predecessor, he himself felt implicated by criticizing his predecessor government.
Orji was disappointed that Ikpeazu was not focused on governance and taking responsibility, but resorted to the situation in the state. He stressed that leaders do not want to deliver speeches, but to provide results. “Ikpizu should take on his cross again and be held accountable for his actions and violations, rather than looking for someone to blame,” Olgi said.
