Ukrainian War: Russia denies recruiting Chinese nationals to fight

Russia firmly denies Ukraine’s recent claim that Chinese nationals are fighting with Russian troops in the ongoing conflict.

Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Andrey Rudenko spoke in an interview with TASS News, deeming the allegations as false.

“I can say that it is far from the facts, and it is far from the facts,” Ludenko said on Saturday.

He further emphasized the power of Russia’s diplomatic ties with Beijing, adding:

“China’s position in Ukrainian settlements is quite balanced, and we are very grateful to our friends for this.”

He claimed that Ukrainian troops captured several people with China ties following a statement by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy earlier this week. Zelenskyy claimed that 155 people were found in Chinese and passport details in the detainees.

In response, the Chinese Foreign Ministry reiterated its neutral position, saying that Beijing was not involved in the war and had previously warned Chinese citizens not to participate in any military activities abroad.

At the same time, the United States has put pressure on this matter. National Security Council spokesman Brian Hughes said Washington is closely monitoring the situation.

“If confirmed, China’s support will be a person about escalation,” Hughes pointed out.

The allegations are a period of global censorship of the role of international actors in the Russian-Ukrainian war and are now entering their third year.
