    • Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar strongly condemned the recent killings in the Plateau state.

    • He accused Tinubu of failure in security.

    • Atiku issued an alert on the deteriorating security situation in Nigeria, especially in the Plateau and Borno State.

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar expressed anger and sadness over the recent wave of killings in the Plateau state, attributed to the insecurity of the failure of President Bora Tinub’s administration.

At least 47 people were killed in a recent attack in the Zike community in the Barcelona local government area.

“I feel very sad about the revival of violent attacks in the plateau state,” Atiku said in a statement. “This tragedy happened a few days after a similar attack in the Bokkos LGA, which worsened the situation of people’s security in our country.”

Atiku, who condemned the failure of Tinubu-led government to protect lives and property, said: “It is regrettable that these Nigerians have to die due to the incompetence of the Tinubu-led government.”

He also raised concerns about the terrorist attacks in Borno State, citing concerns raised by Governor Babagana Zulum and Borno’s Shehu.

Atiku, who called for prompt and decisive judicial action to hold the perpetrators accountable, said: “The federal attorney general must give priority to prosecutions of these criminals and a special court should be established for a quick trial.”

He also urged the National Assembly to pass legislation that would allow state governments to arm and equip local security clothing.
