Oyo Governor Seyi Makinde believes that the 2027 presidential election will not be ruled by all Progressive Congress (APC) and the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).
Naija News McKenfer reportedly said in an interview on Channel TV’s political plan on Tuesday, April 15, 2025 that the 2027 election will be held between Nigerians and APC.
Makinde accused the APC government of its swinging economy and the country’s growing security challenges, saying the next poll would be the time for the judgement of Bola Tinubu’s presidency.
The governor boasted that his party is still the hope of ordinary people, and he stressed that the PDP would not make mistakes, which made it lose its 2023 presidential poll.
He said “The elections in 2027 are compared to APC vs APC; this is Nigerian vs APC. Mark my words on this.”
Markkender said in a 2023 poll that his party made a serious mistake by handing over the presidential vote, State Chairman Slot and the presidential director’s office to members of the North Region.
He said excluding Southerners from three main slots has dealt a self-destructive blow to PDP, which ultimately suffered losses in the polls.
He said “If the three main influence positions that brought us to the election were occupied by the Northeast, Central Central and Northwest, how could we sell the post across the country?”
Recall that in the construction of the last election, Iyorchia Ayu from the central north was the president of the PDP country, former vice president of former vice president Atiku Abubakar, the flag bearer from the northeast was the party’s flag bearer, and Aminu Tambuwal from the northwest was the director-general of Atiku.
