Mohammed Idris, Minister of Information and Ethnic Training, said Boko Haram had been greatly downgraded and was “at the last stop.”
Idris pointed out this in an interview with France 24.
“I think they’re on the last leg. So far they have occupied territory, especially in the northeast of Nigeria (local government, towns, cities), and that’s not the case anymore. They’ve disappeared to a large extent; they’ve encountered the bushes and come with some soft targets.
We are not saying we have 100% extinction Boko Haram, but I think we have derogatory Boko Haram because they pose any major challenge to us as a country. ” He said
For more than a decade, the Boko Haram rebellion destroyed the northeast of Nigeria, with brutal attacks, mass kidnappings and thousands of displacements.
The militant groups are notorious for the purpose of establishing the Islamic State and have also seized control of some LGAs. Last week, Borno State Governor Babagana Zulum was shocked by the military form in some of the LGAs of Boko Haram members.
