Sports power couple Bastian Schweinsteiger and Ana Ivanovic reportedly reached a crisis in their marriage.
Germany’s World Cup champions, as well as former Bayern Munich and Manchester United star Bastian Schweinsteiger and former triangular ace Ana Ivanovic, 37, ended in 2016 and have three sons together.
But, as Bild reported, their marriage was on the rock nine years since the beginning of Venice’s dream wedding in Venice.
The German media claimed that Schweinsteiger and Ivanovic’s relationship became difficult because they did not spend much time together.
Bild noted that the couple was often separated by thousands of miles, Schweinsteiger drove frequently, while Ivanovic’s children were with their children in her hometown of Belgrade Serbia.
The former midfielder is currently in Jakarta, Indonesia, and Ivanovic relies on her parents and brothers to live in Serbia.
Schweinsteiger and Ivanovic have also rarely met in public in recent months.
Last September, they competed in Berlin’s Laver Cup Tennis Championships, and their last Instagram post visited a Christmas market in Vienna in December.
Bild reported that they had contacted Schweinsteiger’s management and were only told that former footballer and Ivanovic would not comment on private matters.
Schweinsteiger and Ivanovic first met in New York in 2014, and the former then proposed in London Park a few months after falling down his knee.
Their wedding took place in July 2016, and Ivanovic won the French Open in 2008 before retiring from tennis in December 2016.
