Today, on April 16, some women in River State protested against the state’s emergency rule.
Women said it was the river women united prayer group, opposing Siminalayi Fubara as governor. The women packed the main streets in Harcourt Port to protest the implementation of emergency rule in Rivers State and demanded that Fobala return to office.
Protesters wore red costumes and held placards with placards marked like “We have a conscience”, brought back the inscriptions of Governor Fubara, “We are blocked”, “River State economy suffered losses under Ibas”, “NBA has a conscience”, etc.
Monday’s protests followed last week’s women’s demonstrations in favor of Gov. Siminalayi Fubara, which was suspended by Tinubu due to the state’s political crisis.
