Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar asked President Bola Tinubu to return to Nigeria immediately.
Atiku said in a statement Wednesday that Tinubu’s trip to France was seriously unreasonable and an insult to Nigerians.
The former presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) added that President Tinob gave up on the country while Nigerians are fighting poverty, insecurity and despair.
He recorded Tinubu as his post in the Plateau and Borno State in the absence of the country.
Naija News reported that Atiku believes that France’s Tinob did nothing anywhere in Nigeria.
The Rivers State Government denied viral reports that the sole executive of the state ibot Ekwe-ibas convened suspended Governor Siminalayi Fubara and his agent Ngozi Odu.
Naija News reported that it was attributed to a statement attributed to state government minister Ibibia Lucky Worika’s claiming that IBAS directed Fubara to present a comprehensive document and appointment record, including reasons and procedures followed in the past two years of his administration.
According to the virus statement, Worika allegedly revealed that the subpoenas will also explain to Fubara why he believes he should be reinstated.
But in a statement Wednesday, Sir Didd Sampson, the permanent secretary of the River State Government Secretary’s Office, dismissed the report on Friday as a forgery.
He urged the public to ignore the statement and any similar misinformation “because they are the job of troublemakers trying to destabilize the country.”
The Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC) has secured investors of the bad-lost trading platform, called CBEX, who will get the money back.
A spokesperson for EFCC Dele Oyewale spoke in a TV interview with the channel on Wednesday.
He added that before the digital trading platform collapsed, the EFCC warned Nigerians to be alert to this Ponzi scheme, but unfortunately many Nigerians did not hear the warning.
However, Oyewale noted that as the responsible agency, the EFCC had already started analyzing the platform before it collapsed, and with the recent crash, anti-grafting agencies are working with other international security agencies to track the people behind the program and ensure investors recover their funds.
Naija News reported that CBEX promised investors a 100% return on investment and started having trouble last weekend as many people no longer withdraw their funds.
A spokesperson for the EFCC said of the development that many Nigerians have been calling and visiting and the agency is actively studying how numerous “investors” will recover their money.
Oyewale added that recovery may take some time.
Dangote oil refineries once again lowered the price of Advanced Sports Spirit (PMS), commonly known as gasoline.
Naija News learned that the new price was set at 835 per liter, which was below 865 per liter, and the mark fell by 3.5%.
This price adjustment is a decline following the recent decline in global crude oil prices, which has fallen from $70 a barrel in recent weeks to $64 a barrel.
This significant development comes after the previous price dropped from 880 to 865 liters, but oil marketers did not transfer their savings to consumers.

The committee met after it was formally inaugurated on Tuesday, April 15, 2025 by a spokesman for House Speaker Abbas Tajudeen.
Rotimi explained that since the appointment of the Deputy Admiral of the IBA as the sole administrator, the meeting was an opportunity for the committee to discuss preliminary reports and developments in the River State.
He further pointed out that under article 11 (4) of the Constitution of 1999 (as amended), the Commission’s constitution authorized to require them to conduct comprehensive legislative oversight.
Former President Goodluck Jonathan firmly denied the claims of an online report, saying he gave President Bola Tinubu a victory in the 2027 presidential election.
Jonathan, in a statement released by his media office, listed himself with a report titled “Tinubu Will Win the 2027 Presidential Election – Goodluck Jonathan”, which was distributed on social media platforms.
The controversial report says Jonathan said the unestablished alliance to challenge Tinubu’s reelection will be successful.
