
Anambra State Police Command has launched an investigation in a woman in the state’s Nnewi local government area.
According to the gathering, “Agunechemba” of Anambra national security equipment, an unidentified person, allegedly shot the woman D3AD, while attempting to create a passage for the clothing fleet.

According to witnesses near the scene, the motorist was trapped in a deadlock at Iberto’s junction, and suddenly, the convoy of Agunechemba Agents arrived and passed through the deadlock, which was said to have been shot into the air.
“The operatings, in their attempts to clear the way for their patrol vehicles and their convoy, started firing gunshots; and in the process, a road user, simply identified as Chiamaka, got hit by straight bullets and she slumped immediately. “This led to panic in the area and people started scampering to safety and in the process, the Agunechemba operators fled the scene,” the eyewitness said.
The woman was taken to a nearby hospital where she was confirmed to have D3AD by a doctor.
Command spokesman SP Ikenga Tochukwu confirmed the incident in a statement Wednesday, April 16.
“Police Anambra State Police Chief Dr. Ikioye Orutugu FWC MNIPS filed a lawsuit and noted that the commander has contacted relevant security departments to identify the suspects and ensure justice,” the statement said.
“This is after a report last night on April 15, 2025, where a regrettable incident occurred at the Ibeto junction of Nnewi, where a trigger-safe security agent shot and killed a woman, who was later identified as Chiamaka Okeke, which led to her D3ATH.
“Investigation is underway, please convey further developments.”
