Today on April 17, Chidinma Ojukwu, chief suspect of Super TV CEO Michael Usifo Ataga, tells how she found Ataga’s lifeless body in a short-distance apartment in Lekki on June 15, 2021.
The first 300-level mass communication student at the University of Lagos, a mass communication student at Tafawa Balewa Square, testified before the Lagos High Court judge at the University of Lagos, said that she had returned from buying food and juice, knocked on the door repeatedly, received no response, and then got no response, and then opened the door, opened only blood, and found a still blood on the floor.

Chidinma is proven in evidence from her lawyer Mr. Onwuka Egwu, which narrates her relationship with Ataga, which began in November 2020. Chidinma mentioned that they were met through a mutual friend, Fiyin, who was dating Ataga’s friend James. She called Ataga kind and supportive, claiming that he paid her tuition and funded her cosmetics business.
According to her, Ataga, who is from Edo and living in Victoria Garden City, has three children and his estranged wife is in Abuja. She told the court that on June 13, 2021, Ataga told her his upcoming birthday and invited her to spend time with him before heading to Abuja for a family gathering.
“Because of the ongoing renovation of his VGC residence, he suggested booking a hotel or short-distance apartment in Lekki, where he arranged a meeting,” she said.
Chidinma said she found a short-distance apartment on Adewale Street near Lekki, Lekki approved by Ataga. According to her, they met there that night, went out to eat at Ango Villa restaurant, bought wine, and then returned to the apartment to eat, drink and smoke.
She told the court that on June 14, they woke up late and Ataga allegedly asked her to contact the supplier for “marijuana” (marijuana) and Rohypnol. She said he sent N15,000 and then 25,000 n25,000. She has been out for about two hours due to common restrictions and delays. She mentioned that on June 15, Ataga asked for more marijuana, but because he could not transfer the funds, she asked for payment.
He also gave her money to eat food and juice. After delays caused by the Okro soup she was asked to buy, she returned to the apartment – just encountered a frightening scene.
“I saw the blood, pushed the door open, and saw Michael on the floor, covered in blood. I checked a pulse-no.”
She panicked, she cleaned her blood, changed her clothes, and packed up her belongings, including a brown envelope containing Ataga’s bank statement, ID card and documents belonging to Mary Johnson. She also took some jewelry and left the apartment in the taxi.
The case was adjourned until April 28, 2025 to continue the trial.
