
The gunman suspected to be a herdsman, had a man identified as a shelter on Friday and kidnapped his pregnant wife and sister in the Uruk community in the Etsako West Polinage Sate Etsako West Communal Goarty area of Ido state.
The incident occurred in the early morning of Monday, April 14, 2025, when the gunman attacked the deceased’s residence between 1 a.m. and 2 a.m.
State Police Commander spokesman CSP Moses Yamu confirmed the incident in a statement Thursday, saying police operators had been deployed to the area.
According to him, agents are working with local alert and hunters to rescue the kidnapped victims and arrest the attackers.
“The order has been aware. The necessary deployment has been made in this regard. Our soldiers continued Bush’s combing and rescue operations in an effort to rescue the victims,” Yamu said.

Residents are said to have been afraid to respond to the shooting until the attackers fled.
“When the gunshots stopped, people finally came out and the man was found in his blood and his wife and her sister were taken away,” a community source said.
