Paul Rodriguez has not suffered any legal consequences after being arrested for drug detention, as the city where he was detained decided not to conduct the case. According to Burbank City Attorney, the case was dismissed due to insufficient evidence.
Rodriguez was arrested in late March and police allegedly found narcotics during traffic stops. However, Rodriguez insists that the drugs are not his. He explained that when the police woke him up, he fell asleep in the passenger seat of the car. His friend was driving and he admitted the drugs belonged to her, but Rodriguez claimed he was still roughly arrested.
In response to Rodriguez’s allegations of misconduct, police argued that he did not mention any abuse in his conversation with the surveillance commander before his release.
Bobby Samini, the attorney for Rodriguez, praised the decision to revoke the case, noting that Rodriguez was innocent and never possessed any controlled substance. Samini also praised Rodriguez’s supporters for their encouragement in the ordeal.
