Federal Capital Territory Minister NYESOM WIKE criticized the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Governor Forum and former Vice President Atiku Abubakar for their lack of sincerity in recent political moves.
Wick warned that if the party continues on its current path, it has the potential to repeat its mistakes in 2023 and lose its 2027 presidential election.
In a media briefing in Abuja, Wike responded to Atiku’s recent efforts to form a coalition of opposition parties aimed at bringing President Bola Tinubu to form. The initiative faces boycotts, which was chaired by PDP Governor Seyi Makinde, in the PDP Governor Seyi Makinde, publicly stated that the forum will not support the coalition.
“Those who call on the league are not real to themselves,” Wick said.
“Even people in the party act for their own benefit.
Wick follows his appearance in a political talk show on Thursday, telling the story of Governor Makinde.
“I told him you weren’t honest about some of the issues you discussed,” Wick said.
“One of the main reasons why PDPs lost in 2023 is impunity – People think they can do whatever they want and ignore the party’s constitution, especially on the issue of power rotation between the North and the South.”
He warned that the party is now on the verge of repeating the same mistake.
“You make the same mistake again. If the Governors Forum continues to be at this level of impunity, then what happened in 2023 will certainly happen again in 2027.”
Wick stressed that the PDP Governor Forum was just a pressure group, not a formal body of the party – and warned against allowing it to affect the National Work Commission.
He concluded: “If this impunity is not addressed, it will have a serious impact on the future of the Party.”
