
A 32-year-old man was identified as Andrew Chukwuka Nwosu and committed suicide along Olokoro-Umudike Road in the southern local government area of Asia, Abia State University.
The deceased is said to be Itaja Obuohia Olokoro in the southern government area, who parked his vehicle on the side of the road on Thursday morning, April 17, 2025, and then allegedly hung himself on a nearby fence with his belt.
Witnesses told ABN TV that the discovery of his lifeless body being found hanging caused shock to residents and passers-by, who quickly alerted the authorities.
Abia State Police spokesman DSP Maureen Chinaka confirmed the incident to reporters.
“Yes, growth happened.
According to her, detectives from the Ubakara branch visited the scene immediately, and the bodies have since been stored in the Madonna morgue for preservation and autopsy.
DSP Chinaka added: “There are no signs of violence physically. Photos were taken on the scene and a preliminary investigation is underway.”
As the investigation continues, the motive behind suspicious suicide remains unknown.
