
Lagos State Police Command denied reports that hundreds of Boko Haram suspects were arrested in the state. The commander’s spokesman, CSP, Benjamin Hundeyin, issued a statement Friday refuting publications published in some newspapers on April 17, 2025.
According to the state’s police chief Hundeyin, CP Olohundare Jimoh ordered an immediate investigation into the report to determine its authenticity. He said the investigation showed that nowhere in Lagos was seen, seen, seen or arrested.
He added that the leaders, operators and drivers of the trailer park community mentioned in the report confirmed to police that no such person was found or detained in these areas. In addition, surveillance detectives, personnel from the Lagos State Police Intelligence Department, and other police formations were deployed to the above sites for further verification, but no evidence supporting the report was found.
“All reports are false, malicious, and harmful to cause fear and fear from the public,” Hundeyin said.
Police urged the public to ignore the report and continue their daily activities without fear. Hundeyin also advised the media to avoid publishing unverified and misleading information that could undermine the state’s peace.
