    Police kidnap kidnapping, rescue 10 victims in Katz

    Katsina National Command successfully thwarted Funtua’s attempt to kidnap along the Gusau highway and rescued ten kidnapped victims

    Command spokesman DSP Abubakar Sadiq Aliyu disclosed this in a statement on Sunday, April 20, 2025.

    On April 19, 2025, about 2135 hours, information was received in the Fascari department that allegedly armed bandits ambushed along the village of Marabar Bangori on Funtua-Gusau Road with the aim of kidnapping two vehicles. Statement reading.

    “After receiving the message, the APC Patrol was affiliated with the Faskerry Division, mobilized and quickly responded to the scene to get the bandits to participate in the gunfight. The bandits were overwhelmed and fled to the nearby bushes, abandoning their mission.

    “Ten (10) victims, including two (2) drivers and eight passengers, were rescued. As the investigation proceeds, efforts are being made to ensure that the fleeing suspects are arrested. Further developments will be made in due course.

    “Katsina National Command Police Chief CP Bello Shehu, PSC, FDC, MNIM praised the police’s professionalism and quick response, which undoubtedly saved lives.

    “He reiterated the commitment to the order to ensure the safety and security of good people in Casina.”
